It is a shame that the birthplace has been demolished, but it is a beautiful historic place.

Rembrandt lived on Rembrandtplein (De Schildersplaats, popularly known as Weddesteegplein, which was renamed Rembrandtplaats in April 2006) until 1631.
A facade stone on his "birthplace" dates from 1906.
You can find a beautiful work of art by Stephan Balkenhol: The work of art is inspired by Rembrandt's self-portrait in his Leiden studio from 1629. The young Rembrandt is looking at the easel with a bronze relief of a self-portrait on it.
On the wall behind the easel hangs another portrait of Rembrandt, made of ceramic.
