The Kranabethhütte, formerly the Naturfreundehaus, was taken over by the Gröller family in 2012, renovated and has since been run as a restaurant again. The mountain hut is located on the Kranabethsattel on the Feuerkogel plateau in Ebensee at 1,530 meters above sea level. A comfortable five to ten minute walk from the Feuerkogel cable car mountain station, right next to hiking trail 820, which locals call the "summer trail" and which is part of the E4 European long-distance trail.

Hiking

The hut is located directly on a slope, away from the hustle and bustle at the mountain station. Wonderful view of the Traunstein from the terrace behind the house. You can choose to sit in the sun or in the shade. Excellent cuisine, super friendly service. Highly recommended if you want to stop off at the end of a hike.
