On Willscheider Berg, Willscheider See is located in the former basalt quarry, a beautiful lake that is well worth seeing, but you have to leave the running route a few meters (at the arching facility) and a short distance through the forest to see it.

The Willscheider See is unfortunately not open to the public because it is located in a crater with steep walls left by the decades of basalt mining. There is not even a point on the circular path from which you have a good view of the lake. To do this, you have to leave the official route and trudge through the former coniferous forest either on the north bank or in the south.
