The canals were built as a gateway to the numerous brickworks in the area. In order to enable both the barges that delivered the bricks to Berlin and the rural residents to cross, a human-powered swing bridge was once installed here. The mechanics are still clearly recognizable, the bridge itself is in perfect shape.
The way over the bridge is a shortcut of the Havel cycle path. You can get through the small settlement without barriers, but you have to overlook a prohibition sign (private path).
