    Hiking

    Most visitors storm to the Skogafoss and then continue straight away. That's great too. But the real Foss lovers walk over to the museum, pass the fence over the last building and visit Kvernufoss. In my view, truly a highlight without the big mass casserole.

    The Kvernufoss waterfall is located in the Kverná River, which originates from the Eyjafjallajökull glacier. The waterfall is created by the river flowing over the edge of a cliff that was once Iceland's coastline. Due to the uplift of Iceland after the last ice age, the coastline moved 5 kilometers.
