Stinekenpforte | The narrow lane from the Domhof and the Gymnasium Josephinum to the street "Hückedahl" carries the unusual name "Stinekenpforte". The name refers to the medieval conditions on "Hückedahl" and confirms drastically the rough humor of Hildesheimer. "Stinekenpforte" means "stinking gate" and "Hückedahl" means "squat down", a blatant reference to the way of the canons to the Aborten (toilets) in the open air.
