The easy hike "Around the Herreninsel" leads past the Ottos Ruh rest area. The path runs through shady forest, sometimes slightly uphill, sometimes slightly downhill, and can be completed in a good two hours. The view of the foothills of the Alps and Lake Chiemsee opens up from the vantage point. If you follow the signposted path, you will reach the second vantage point on the island, "Pauls Ruh".
