The wall has been climbed since the late 1950s. In the 90s there was a lot of discussion about climbing the bivouac wall. The Naturschutzband Deutschland (NABU) then bought the wall and removed the hooks. In the meantime, however, it has been clarified that climbing is allowed on the bivouac wall and since the renovation in 2006 a beautifully landscaped climbing area has been created here in the lower to medium degrees of difficulty.
