The Muna is a former military site with abandoned buildings and bunkers. From 1935 to 1945 it was a Nazi munitions plant. In 1945 it was occupied by the British and in 1946 it was used as accommodation for displaced persons. The Bundeswehr took over the site in 1960 and sealed it off completely from 1970 onwards. Nuclear weapons were stationed on the site during the Cold War.
