The Sachsweg is described here. It was probably built in 1913/14 for forest workers and then became more and more popular. A good 100 years later I can say: A beautiful, long path through the forest almost from Sinsheim to Weiler with its Steinsberg Castle. The Odenwald Club Sinsheim is trying to maintain the path.

A beautiful, varied hike runs from Sinsheim through the lovely Ilvesbach valley up to the Steinsberg (“Kraichgau compass”). On shady forest paths it goes clockwise via Hammerau back to the starting point. The 18 km circular hike starts and ends at the Auto and Technology Museum in Sinsheim. The highlight of the tour, in addition to the car and technology museum, is Steinsberg Castle. The hiking tour runs on good paths overall. The second part of the hiking route runs on well-marked forest paths.
