The coat of arms hall has a very eventful history. Actually already completed with the rest of the airport, the hall was so heavily bombed during the war that all damage was not repaired until 1951. Its heyday was in the 1950s and 60s when all travelers could actually walk through the representative gates.

In front of the coat of arms hall there was even a visitor terrace with restaurants. Older residents report that well into the 1950s, there were often significantly more day trippers and onlookers at the airport than real passengers on Sundays.

At the beginning of the 1970s, modern functional buildings were placed in front of the Wappenhalle - roughly where the hotel is opposite today - so that the view of the apron was blocked and the function became that of a pure waiting room.

The reception hall of Munich-Riem Airport was called the Coat of Arms Hall. Built in 1939, the Coat of Arms Hall could only be put into operation as such in 1951 due to the Second World War
