The Neckarweg starts from the pavilion. A long-distance hiking trail that ends in Mannheim. Between Bad Wimpfen and Heidelberg it is called the Neckarsteig.
The Neckarweg is around 445 km long, of which around 128 km are on the Neckarsteig. However, these are only theoretical values. The actual hiking distance for me was much longer.
Following the Neckar from its very small size to its confluence with the Rhine near Mannheim is a fantastic experience. Many historic towns lie along its path: Rottweil, Horb, Tübingen, Ludwigsburg, Mosbach, Hirschhorn, Neckarsteinach and Heidelberg. Definitely a recommended long-distance hike🤗
