pure walking time 4:05 hoursSchramberg is one of my favorite areas for hiking in the immediate vicinity. Lots of great little paths, a very varied forest and incredibly diverse vegetation, the castle ruins as highlights and ... vertical meters, vertical meters and even more of it.

The "Katzenpfad" paradise tour is a circular hike with wonderful views of the wonderful area as well as the Tennenbronn district and the Schramberg valley town. However, good shoes and a sure step are a prerequisite, because it is definitely alpine.Start is in the parking lot at the inn "Grüner Baum" in Hardt. First it goes on the Tischnecker Weg and further past the Mittlerbauernhof. It goes steeply downhill over the Schleifenloch into the Bernecktal. There the road is crossed and on the other side through the so-called Katzenloch to the ruin hike steeply uphill. This path is narrow and shouldn't be used after long rainfalls, as it could be slippery there. Even those who are not free from giddiness have their "prospect problems" here. The view sweeps from the remains of the wall of the Ramstein ruins far into the valley and the heights. After this first exertion, a rest on the benches in front of or in the Ramstein Chapel is good for you. This gem dates back to 1754 and was renewed in 1984/85. Then it goes on on the way to Bühl. From there, the hiker has a wonderful view of the Tennenbronn district. The path now to be walked through the forest is pleasant in summer temperatures and leads to the highest point of the hike at 823 meters.Continuing across meadows and through the forest, there is another steep descent into the Berneckal valley. A Kneipp footbath in the Schiltach as it flows past awakens the spirits for the final spurt. As is customary on hikes, a steep descent is followed by an ascent. The reward for this is the wonderful view over the valley town with the former hospital and the Junghans villa. After the last steep ascent and through the forest, the starting point is reached. The trail is marked by signs with a black cat on a white background. The entire route is around twelve kilometers and a walking time of at least four hours. However, if you take breaks and enjoy the area extensively, it can go longer.
