It is the landmark of the Lemgo city forest: the lookout tower. For a long time its future and that of the adjacent restaurant have been uncertain. Now up to 150 people can celebrate there.
With a height of 37m, the tower towers just above the beech trees.
The observation tower was built in 1880 together with the restaurant.
There are exactly 87 steps to the first platform.

Nothing wrong at the 'landmark' in the city forest of Lemgo. Why does it become clear? The entrance to the observation tower is blocked by a heavy iron door. The forest restaurant next door closed. Looking through the windows you can see high-backed chairs. A man who runs his dog, clarifies me and learn that you can rent the Waldgaststätte as a 'party room'. Interesting, I thought. I had put on a nice view and on a wheat beer.
