About Erika Wellmer

Natur muss man fühlen! "Zitat Humbold". Hola "bon dia" Ich bins, "Erika". Eure Erika

I started hiking in the village of PRATS - but if you want you can start right at the Meritxell shrine. There is also a small bar there to drink coffee before the start. The hike leads through a pine forest with a few steep climbs on the sunny side of the Valira valley. We pass the BORDAS DE MEREIG. From there it is 15 minutes to the spectacular ROC DEL QUER viewpoint. It continues on the old ways. We descend at the BORDAS (old stone barns) bus to our destination: the small Romanesque church of Sant Joan de Caselles.
      Insider tip:
Visiting the Meritxell sanctuary is free. In the small bar opposite the Hotel Babot ... there is good coffee with milk ... a few souvenirs and Andorran stamps.
Notes: There are a couple of shorter quite steep climbs and descents.

Circular hike with a great view. It starts at the church in the village of Alás. The first 1.5 km we follow a small road, then we go over forest tracks and ancient connecting paths. The scenic path always offers us new views: We see the Andorran Pyrenees peaks, the Spanish peaks of the Aigues Tortes and Sant Mauricius national parks, and the north side of the Cadi Mountains in the nature park of the same name.
Warning: there are not always waymarks. GPS recommended. Hiking time all months except June / July / August until the beginning of September (too hot)

Start right behind the border of the miniature state Andorra in France / Collafa de Puigmorens. The climb to the Pic del la Mina is particularly attractive in winter. No technical difficulties / no danger of avalanches.

A real insider tip: Our goal today is a small rock with mysterious symbols that were probably carved into the rock by the first inhabitants of Andorra in the Nhepolitikum. ((About 4000 BC)

Leisurely hike. It goes through gnarled pine forests, parallel to the river "Valira Orient", to our destination, the small Romanesque church of Sant Joan de Caselles.
      Insider tip:
      - The church is usually open from July 15th to September 15th. (Closed for lunch from 1 pm to 3 pm. The bus stop estelle😊 is right in front of the church

It starts right in front of the Hotel Llop Gris / (el Tarter). Right at the beginning of the hike we cross the Fis Worldcap ski slopes. We hike on the old connecting path "Gall del Bosc" to the village of Soldeu, where we can drink a "cafe amb llet", milk coffee, for example in the Hotel Soldeu Maistre. From now on it's about 50 minutes uphill, through a dark pine forest fringed by rhododendrons. We get to a forest track and then to a clearing on the plateau. After a rest, we descend into the enchanting Inclestal and follow the mountain river. Our circular route leads us from the beginning of the Inclestal after a short stretch of road back to our starting point, the family-run Hotel Llop Gris

Milling mountain lakes surrounded by the rugged cliffs in the glacier basin offer us a landscape like in a picture book.🥰 Some surefootedness is required. With a little luck, we'll see the friendly marmots
