The steps to Engelberg Monastery are steep and numerous, but are especially fun when you know that you have reached the monastery 😉. The view from the monastery, the monastery garden and the gastronomy in the monastery make up for the effort of the ascent.

The Engel 😇🏔berg is high above Großheubach, from where it is u. a. over 612 sandstone steps, the so-called "Engelsstaffeln" (in 1637 this "heavenly staircase" with the so-called "Engels😇staffeln" was created. Six chapels invite you to reflect). The climb ⬆️ is worth it. However, you can also get to the monastery from Milten🗻berg Nord, you save yourself the climb and can walk down the steps on the way back⬇️.
