Today I start my hike in my 2nd home Sailauf. From the parking lot in the center of the village we went up the Bischling, past my football club, Sportfreunde Sailauf, towards Frohnhofen. From there I circled the Bischlingsberg to the forest cemetery, from where I continued to hike towards the Sailaufer Steinbruch. First I left the quarry on the left to walk along the Sailaufbach high into the forest. From there it went on to the quarry. The quarry is already a "murder hole" and is worth a visit on its own. From the quarry we went briefly through the village to then pay a visit to the Obersailaufer Kreuz. We continued above the village to the Sämenhof. I wandered around there a bit, because Komoot wanted to send me through the yard, but because it's private property, you can't actually get through. But with the help of the owner I was able to walk through. From here we went to the Sailaufer Vitus Church and back to the parking lot.

This afternoon we started a hike from Sailauf to Jakobsthal. The path led through the beautiful autumn forest up to the Engländerhaus, from there down to Jakobsthal. There stop at the inn "Zur Knöpphütte". Then it was dark through the Spessartwald over the arena back to Sailauf.

Nice circular hike from the Forstgarten car park near Bad Homburg in the Taunus. Then it went through the Hirschgarten and further up to the Saalburg Roman fort (entrance fee). From there, partly along the Limes adventure trail, up to the Herzbergturm with the mountain inn. Then a short detour to the Bleibeskopf and back to the starting point.
The last few kilometers then unfortunately in the rain, so that the view of FFM was unfortunately quite veiled.
But still a nice hike.
What strikes again and again in the Taunus are the massive clear cuts. That's really not nice, but you often have nice views at these points.

The hike of just under 9km starts in Steiger at Gasthof Spessartruh and leads steeply up to the summit of the Steinknückel. There is a summit book there, a great thing that is rare in the Spessart. Then it goes on to the refuge on the Brandberg. From there go on the Spessartwege 1/2 direction Waldaschaff. Above Waldaschaff, it goes back to Steiger for a while on old paths and trails.
A nice tour, as most of the paths are natural and no forest highways, as unfortunately too often in Spessart.

Today, in honor of my father, we went to beautiful Franconia for his 75th birthday. The start was in Kaltenhausen to climb from there to the Vogelsburg. Then it went through the vineyards to Volkach. There we had a delicious lunch. Then it went on to the pilgrimage church "Maria im Weingarten" (admission!) And then over the vineyards back to Kaltenhausen to quench your thirst with the local beer menu.
