The Stadtpark Luckenwalde is a green area that was created in 1904 and is a listed building.

The older section of the city park was laid out on March 1, 1904. It has served as a zoo since 1956 and in 2015 it was home to around 200 animals of 39 species.

The newer part was built in 1936 as an extension of the existing section. In his design language, he picks up on the late 1920s. At the southern end, Späth envisaged a pergola which, with a length of 70 metres, was the defining element of the park. It can be accessed from two entrances to the east and west. In the western part of the park there is a sunbathing lawn, a sandpit and a gym.

In 1965, a small park café opened in the southeast corner, reflecting the zeitgeist of the time. In the decades that followed, however, the paths were hardly recognizable.

Since 1996, the city has been gradually restoring the spatial references and routes. She renovated the pergola and the embankment walls and restored the ornamental bed. The whereabouts of a sculpture by Pietro Magni di Milano, The Reader, which stood in the park in the 1960s, was unclear for a long time. She was thought to have disappeared for a while. In 2013 a document was published showing the sculpture in the Berlin State Library.
