The Elbsche has its source in Albringhausen and flows into the Ruhr after about 7.5 km in Wengern. In parts it forms the border between Wetter and Witten. The Elbschebachtal is around 32 hectares in size and a great nature reserve and hiking area.

The Elbschetal is magical and very idyllic. Good footwear required as it is slippery.

"I would like to finally present the legendary Elbschebachtal to KC, but because of the rain of the last few days and the resulting muddy roads, the planning does not lead us through the Elbschebachtal itself, but along the route of the same name high above the valley.
From the Elbschetal viaduct we cast a few glances towards Wengern, then the Bommerholz water tower appears to the west.
Alone I hiked up "down" in the Elbschebachtal, today the almost deserted route takes us up to Hillingloh in one go; almost like walking on the catwalk over the winter landscape and yet in the middle of nature; your eyes can wander, your soles walk safely on the firm ground.
Although the ground is so frozen today that we don't need asphalt at all, we still enjoy the speed and the safety of the route."
