The house on the corner of Vierhekkenstraat and Drongenplein first appears in the old registers in 1575 as a homestead “taxed to the lord of Dronghene”.
Later it was run as an inn that played an important role in the history of Drongen. In 1653, after all, this is where the four scissors resided.
The building, classified as a protected monument on 13-06-1975, was restored in 1978 according to the plans of architect Piet Cassiman.
