The Elsterbrücke has been in this place since at least 1298. This makes it one of the oldest preserved stone arch bridges in all of Germany. It has been repaired and restored several times since its construction. The last time in 1955 after it was partially blown up in World War II: weischlitz.de/weischlitz/content/20/20090701094434.asp.
