Situated on the North Tyne River, Bellingham is a charming village of stone cottages and traditional pubs. The trails in the surrounding countryside are excellent and the village is a great base for exploring Kielder Forest to the west.

Another superb walk leaves the village for Hareshaw Linn waterfall, 1.6 miles (2.6 km) to the north. It is a spectacular cascade that is well worth a couple of hours' ramble.
