Iphofen - Owl Tower. From the Einersheimer Tor you can also see the Owl Tower by the moat. It is the tallest and most striking tower of the Iphofen city wall.

The slender owl tower made of humpback blocks once served as a watchtower. From here the tower keeper could see the city and the corridor. The felons sentenced to life imprisonment languished in the dull tower dungeon. Since they were left to rot there after their death, such towers are known as "digestion towers". The only way to get to the door, which was set in at the height of the wall, was via a ladder.
