The Schwanenberg northeast of Iphofen is one of the most prominent elevations of the Steigerwald. Like a mighty ship's bow, it slides from the crest of the Steigerwald to the west into the flat Main Valley. The upper part of the 474 meter high mountain is wooded, the lower and middle layers in west and southwest, however, covered with vineyards.
