Cycling
The church of Oudkarspel was called the Aldenkercha in the 11th century. Later in the Middle Ages, the church of Oudkarspel became known as St. Martin's Church, dedicated to Saint Martin, Bishop of Tours. The official name of the church is "St. Maartenskerk", but it is popularly known as the Allemanskerk, because with the help of everyone the church rose from the ashes after the fire of 1969.
