This eye-catching route was created by @Benno Overeinder, and it was a pleasure to ride it with the designer. Also a historical tour with attention to the architecture, about which there is more to tell than I had thought.

Lovely summer evening round. The Mijzenpolder is located between Schermerhorn, Avenhorn and Ursem. The dike roads around this polder are one of my favorite pieces of asphalt in the area. The route through Waterland is also beautiful, and in the evening you can drive on 😃

First Spijkerboor 😃, then Eilandspolder to Schermerhorn, then locked the steering wheel and crosses the Beemster in straight lines. Nice and flat, that's also easy.

Longest stage of our LEJOG tour, 178 km in total. We were very lucky with the weather, practically no rain and…

Lands End to John O'Groats stage 10. Quite a bit of climbing today through the Scottish Highlands. Steep climb through Glenshee to Cairnwell Pass (first climb, highest public road in the UK) and moderately tough climb (as very steep, up to 20%) up the Lecht (final climb). Real Scotland this stage, alternating…

Gets dark earlier, sultry summer evening, nice. And it was a double nailer!
