In the 18th century, mirror grinding and polishing works were built on the Zottbach. The Danzerschleife was one of the oldest mirror loops in this area. Like the other loops, it sourced raw glass from Bohemia and from the glassworks in Frankenreuth. Nuremberg and Fürth were the main customers for the cut glasses and mirrors.

In the 18th century, mirror grinding and polishing works were built on the Zottbach. Along with Danzerschleif, Hagenmühle and Bartlmühle, Galsterlohe was one of the oldest of these mirror loops. These grinding works obtained raw glass from Bohemia and from the glassworks in Frankenreuth. Nuremberg and Fürth were the main customers for the cut glasses and mirrors.

The Danzerschleife was founded in 1844 by Johann Danzer. From 1911 it belonged to Bayerische Spiegelglas A.G. Fürth and from 1947 the crystal glass factory Beyer & Co. from Neustadt a.d. WN. At that time 70 people were employed there.
