      Workarounds when using the mill away from the castle ruin Schellenberg:
      Circular walk No. 1, Nurtschweg or blue "S".
      We walk away from the mill building and there is a sign directly at the farmstead. Here we turn left (tar road), cross the state road and follow the marking until we reach the state road again. This is crossed and continue to follow the marking.
      After about 400 m we come to a cross street. The hiking trails no.1, Nurtschweg and Blaues S. run here
      If we want to follow these, we turn left and are back on the original route towards Schellenberg.
      Workarounds when using the coming from the castle ruin Schellenberg in the direction of Alte Mühle Gehhammer:
      Approx. There is a fork 600 m after the table beech. Here is an information board about crossing the cow pasture.

      On the way: "Berggasthof" Schaller, Georgenberg, Monday closing day, Gasthaus "Zum Waldler Franz", Unterrehberg, open from 5:00 p.m., Tuesday closing day, Gasthaus "Hammerwirt" Neuenhammer, Monday closing day, hammer mill "Bräuhäusl" open from 5:00 p.m.
      Start is at the edge of the forest (municipality border Georgenberg / Pleystein) It then goes towards Prollermühle over a bridge. After the bridge left and after another bridge straight on a wild romantic path along the Zottbach past the Schmittler loop to Neuenhammer to the sewage treatment plant. Here it goes past the game reserve. On the street then right past the "Hammerwirt" inn. Always follow the road until you reach Neuenhammer towards Georgenberg. Then turn left at the former Raiffeisenbank towards the fire station. After the fire station, follow the bridge over the bridge and up to the gravel path. Turn right here until the gravel path ends at the Danzermühle / Waldkirch community road. Here then left along the street and after about 200 meters right onto the hiking parking lot. At the end of the parking lot the path leads to the right with a slight climb towards the Siebeninselweiher. Arrived at the Siebeninselweiher you can enjoy the wonderful view of the "Siebeninselweiher" on a bench. Incidentally, there is a "Roindlplatzl" here. There is also a raft of the OWV Georgenberg in the pond. Several bat flat boxes are attached to the pond. From here it continues on the gravel path towards Georgenberg. Just above at the crossroads. After 200 meters on the right there is a small climb towards Unterrehberg. Cross the main street and follow the street. After the joinery turn right towards the restaurant "Zum Waldler Franz". Always stay on the municipal road. After about 500 meters, a dirt road goes down on the left. Follow this to the tree in the meadow. Then right here. Once at the edge of the forest, the romantic Zottbach valley leads along the Danzerschleife. After the building, just follow the road to Hauptstrasse. Arrived on the street right towards Georgenberg. You will pass the Christian Bäumler Bank car park here. (Left hand). Arrived in Georgenberg left towards Waldkirch / Flossenbürg past the town hall. After the exit Georgenberg after 250 meters there is a coal kiln on the right. Opposite the Diebsweg goes uphill on the left. At the crossroads right and follow the gravel path for approx. 1.5 km. Here it goes right towards Alte Mühle Gehhammer. After approx. 400 meters you cross the main road to the Alten Mühle Gehhammer. When you arrive at the mill, continue towards the Mühle parking lot.
      Starting at the parking lot of the "Alten Mühle" Gehhammer, the parking lot goes uphill to the left until the next sign. Here again right uphill to the forest exit (resting bench with hiking trail sign)
      From here there are two trail options, one for hikers and one for long-distance hikers (quality hiking trail).
      For hikers, the path continues to Neukirchen St. Christoph. At the cemetery (resting bench), the path leads to the right towards Schwanhof. After about 100 m there are signs on the tree. After approx. 600 the path ends in the "Alte Heerstraße" or "Rund um Georgenberg".
      All 3 markings lead to Waldheim. After the Zottbach bridge at the hiking board there is a hiking trail sign with a tube. Here the path continues to the right to Lösselberg. At the junction it goes steeply uphill on the left.
      After 400 m there is a bench. The path leads half right across a meadow towards the Hagenhaus. At the Völkl homestead, the path leads to the right. Along the tar road for approx. 600 m, the path turns left again and leads straight to the Hotel Kastanienhof. Here is the opportunity to stop and stay at the country hotel "Kastanienhof", no day off, "Ute`s Pension, even with a stop and overnight stay, no day off. The path leads through the courtyard past a barn and comes to an intersection. We continue straight on. At the end of the row of houses we reach the forest and come to an intersection. We continue straight ahead and reach a forest road after about 1 km. Here we turn right and after 200 m we come to Bankerl, our destination. The path then continues via the "Pleysteiner Sulzberg" to Waidhaus.

      Einkehrmöglichkeiten:
      „Alte Mühle“ Gehenhammer. Montag, Dienstag und Donnerstag Ruhetag ansonsten ab 13.00 Uhr geöffnet.
      Unterwegs: „Berggasthof“ Schaller, Georgenberg, Montag Ruhetag, Gasthaus „Zum Waldler Franz“, Unterrehberg, ab 17.00 Uhr geöffnet, Dienstag Ruhetag, Gasthaus „Hammerwirt“ Neuenhammer, Montag Ruhetag, Hammermühle „Bräuhäusl“ ab 17.00 Uhr geöffnet. Start ist am Waldrand (Gemeindegrenze Georgenberg/Pleystein) Es geht dann Richtung Prollermühle über eine Betonbrücke. Nach der Brücke links und nach einer weiteren Brücke geradeaus auf einen wildromatischen Steig am Zottbach entlang vorbei an der Schmittlerschleif bis nach Neuenhammer zur Kläranlage. Hier geht es dann am Wildgehege vorbei. An der Straße dann rechts vorbei am Gasthaus „Hammerwirt“. Immer der Straße bis am Ortsausgang Neuenhammer Richtung Georgenberg folgen. An der früheren Raiffeisenbank dann links Richtung Feuerwehrhaus halten. Nach dem Feuerwehrhaus links über die Brücke und dem Steig folgen bis zum Schotterweg. Hier dann rechts bis der Schotterweg an der Gemeindeverbindungsstraße Danzermühle/ Waldkirch endet. Hier dann links auf der Straße entlang und nach ca. 200 Meter rechts auf den Wanderparkplatz. Am Ende des Parkplatzes führt der Weg rechts mit leichtem Anstieg Richtung Siebeninselweiher. Angekommen am Siebeninselweiher kann man auf einer Ruhebank den wunderschönen Ausblick auf den „Siebeninselweiher“ genießen. Übrigens gibt es hier ein „Roindlplatzl“. Auch ein Floß des OWV Georgenberg liegt hier im Weiher. Im Umkreis des Weihers sind mehrere Fledermaus-Flachkästen angebracht. Von hier aus geht es weiter auf dem Schotterweg Richtung Georgenberg. An der 1 Kreuzung gerade darüber. Nach 200 Meter rechts kommt ein kleiner Steig Richtung Unterrehberg. Die Hauptstraße überqueren und der Straße folgen. Nach der Schreinerei rechts Richtung Gasthaus „Zum Waldler Franz“. Immer auf der Gemeindestraße bleiben. Nach ca. 500 Meter geht links ein Schotterweg runter. Diesen bis zum Baum in der Wiese folgen. Hier dann rechts. Am Waldrand angekommen geht es am romantischen Zottbachtal entlang Richtung Danzerschleife. Nach dem Gebäude einfach der Straße bis zu Hauptstraße folgen. An der Straße angekommen rechts Richtung Georgenberg. Hier kommen Sie am Parkplatz Christian Bäumler Bank vorbei. (Linker Hand). In Georgenberg angekommen links Richtung Waldkirch/Flossenbürg am Rathaus vorbei. Nachdem Ortsausgang Georgenberg nach 250 Meter kommt rechts ein Kohlenmeiler. Gegenüber geht dann der Diebsweg bergauf zu einer Kreuzung. Rechts weiter den Schotterweg für ca. 1,5 km folgen. Hier geht es dann rechts Richtung Alte Mühle Gehenhammer. Nach ca. 400 Meter überqueren Sie wieder die Hauptstraße zur Alten Mühle Gehenhammer. Angekommen an der Mühle geht es dann weiter Richtung Parkplatz Mühle.
      Beginnend am Parkplatz der „Alten Mühle“ Gehenhammer geht es am Parkplatz links bergauf bis zum nächsten Wegweiser. Hier wieder rechts bergauf bis zum Waldausgang (Ruhebank mit Wanderwegweiser)
      Ab hier gibt es zwei Wegvarianten einmal für Wanderer und einmal für Fernwanderer (Qualitätswanderweg) Zusatzschilder beachten!!
      Am Waldausgang (Troidlberg) geht es scharf links ab bis zur Kapelle. Hier schöner Weitblick. Der Weg führt steil bergab bis zur Landesgrenze. Entlang der Staatsgrenze (gekennzeichnet mit weißblauen Fluchtpfählen) führt der Weg vorbei an Neudorf bis nach Waldheim. Nach der Zottbachbrücke an der Wandertafel steht ein extra Wanderwegweiser mit Zusatzschild „Qualitätswanderweg“, Hier geht es links weiter bis zur Landesgrenze. Nach 30 m biegt der Weg scharf nach rechts ab (Markierung am Baum), geht am Grenzbach bergauf und endet in einer Wiese.
      Weiter führt der Weg entlang der Landesgrenze in Richtung Osten. Vorbei am Grenzhauptstein Nr. 22 erreichen wir den Wald. Hier biegt der Weg scharf nach rechts ab und nach ca. 200m erreichen wir das Wald ende. Ein Wanderwegweiser gibt hier nähere Informationen.
      (Es wird ein Alternativweg angeboten. Bei der Nutzung des Qualitätswanderweges könnte es zu Kontakten mit Hunden kommen. Deshalb kann man auch den Weg geradeaus gehen und nach ca. 1 km kommt man wieder auf den Qualitätsweg. Er hat die gleiche Markierung.) Der Weg biegt scharf nach links ab. Vorbei an einem Gehöft führt der Weg zur Landesgrenze. An dieser weiter bis zu einem weiteren Gehöft. Dieses durchqueren wir und erreichen nach ca. 100 eine Kreuzung. Diese überqueren wir und auf einem Wiesensteig kommen wir wieder an eine Teerstraße. Ein Wanderwegweiser gibt wieder nähere Infos. Wir biegen links, kommen an eine Kreuzung. Wir gehen geradeaus weiter und erreichen nach ca. 1 km eine Forststraße. Hier biegen wir links ab und kommen nach 200 m zum „Bankerl“, unserem Ziel. Der Weg führt dann weiter über den „Pleysteiner Sulzberg“ nach Waidhaus

      Passing the "Brotsteinfelsen" it goes to the "Schellenberg Castle Ruins" 826 m. An ascent, marked with a red dot, is rewarded with a wonderful all-round view.
      The lookout tower offers another panoramic view of Fahrenberg, Fischerberg near Weiden, Waldkirch, Parkstein and Rauher Kulm (basalt cone, extinct volcano), castle ruins Flossenbürg, St. Ötzen, Hildweinsreuth, Großer Kornberg near Hof Saale, Großer Rabenberg (CZ).

Along the state border (marked with white and blue escape posts) the path leads past Neudorf to Waldheim. After the Zottbach bridge on the hiking board there is an extra hiking trail sign with an additional sign "Quality hiking trail". Here you continue on the left to the national border. After 30 m the path turns sharply to the right (marking on the tree), goes uphill at the Grenzbach and ends in a meadow.
      The path continues eastwards along the border. Past the main border stone no. 22 we reach the forest. Here the path turns sharply to the right and after approx. 200m we reach the end of the forest. A hiking trail sign gives more information here.
      (An alternative path is offered. When using the quality hiking path, there could be contact with dogs. Therefore, you can go straight on and after approx. 1 km you come back to the quality path. It has the same marking.) The path turns sharply to the left. Past a farmstead, the path leads to the national border. At this continue to another farmstead. We cross this and reach an intersection after about 100. We cross it and on a meadow path we come back to a tar road. A hiking trail guide gives more information. We turn left and come to an intersection. We continue straight ahead and reach a forest road after about 1 km. Here we turn left and after 200 m we come to the “Bankerl”, our destination. The path then continues via the "Pleysteiner Sulzberg" to Waidhaus.

      Route from Neuenhammer to Pleystein:You come from "Waldthurn" via "Mangelsdorf" to Neuenhammer. Mangelsdorf is the municipal boundary and thus also the beginning of the marking area of the Upper Palatinate Forest Association Georgenberg.
      The route leads to the branch church (private church of the Johann Maurer family in Neuenhammer), over the Zottbach bridge to Hammermühle.
      The “Bräuhäusl” inn comes after approx. 100 m.

      The route begins in Georgenberg on the Neuenhammer - Waidhaus state road.
      After about 200 m, it branches off to the right towards Faislbach.
      Again after approx. 200 m on a spider, it branches off to the left towards Pleystein.
      After 1 km of tar road, the forest ends left and right. Here is the possibility to use the connection to the circular trail no.4 (yellow St. Andrew's cross) at the junction on the right (see trail no.4). The hiking trail "Around Georgenberg" can also be used.
      After 300 m there is an intersection. Here you have the possibility to use the connection to the circular hiking trail no.5 (yellow St. Andrew's cross) on the left (see trail no.5).
      However, our path continues straight ahead over the crossroads on a forest path approx. 1 km to just before the community road Brünst - three firs (Pleystein). 100 m before the path turns half right, leads to a "bunker" (remains from the Second World War). This is where the area of responsibility of the OWV Georgenberg ends.
      If you want to continue on the way to Pleystein, follow the previous marking over the Hochberg to the end point Pleystein.

      Suitable for "S-R"
      From the Brünst municipal road - Drei Tannen. The tar road can be used.
      Start and end:
      The path begins at the edge of the forest above the Herrmann estate ("Sirakn Luck") at the "Zwusel". After approx. 300 m of meadow path, it turns left again and leads over a beautiful forest path to the municipal road Brünst-Pleystein. This is crossed, and again on a very beautiful forest path, the path leads about 1 km to an intersection. The municipal street
      Dimpfl and Faislbach.
      There you have the possibility to join the “Wallfahrerweg” Georgenberg - Pleystein (marked white / green / white).
      At the crossroads it turns right, northwards, on the tarmac road until the forest begins on the left. Here the path branches off to the left and winds along the edge of the forest to the circular hiking trail no.4. It is possible to either go left to Neuenhammer or turn right towards Georgenberg.
