Construction of the stone house began as early as 1856.
Contrary to what one might suspect, the application 'for the construction of a forest workers' shelter' was not submitted by the community of Wohnbach, but by the community of Wölfersheim.
At that time, the Wölfersheimers had leased the rights to use the forest from the Wohnbachers.
Construction was completed in the same year.
Unlike today, one was dependent on local building materials. The stones for the house come from a ditch next to the Roman road.
