Park Groot Schijn is now a green lung of 83 hectares. The valley received a metamorphosis; from a patchwork to a coherent green paradise. 867 additional trees and 13,610 new hedge plants were planted. The trails and surrounding nature were made fully accessible to recreational visitors.

It used to be a large patchwork, with some sports and youth fields here and there. All these areas, totaling 83 hectares, have now been turned into a large park.
The park should become a quiet, car-free place for everyone, with football, basketball and korfball fields, various youth movements and dog walking zones.
There is also more than enough space for walkers or visitors to relax quietly.

A huge park that goes deep into the heart of Antwerp. The great wide paths offer places to sit under shady trees. What's more, you can easily cycle away from the usual traffic and ride in peace, protected from motor traffic (you can expect a scooter here and there).
