Two historical copper furnaces from 1800, which tell of the industrial history of the once wealthy copper and brass town of Stolberg Atsch. The copper furnaces were restored by volunteers in 2012 and have been open to the public ever since.
The two copper ovens are located in the Berthold-Wolff-Park on Rhenaniastrasse, which was created in memory of the Jewish textile dealer Berthold Wolff and with him to the small Jewish community in Stolberg.

They are really worth seeing and, according to a plaque attached, were probably built around 1800.

Already around 1500 there was a pump house where these annealing furnaces are located today (Atscher pump).
The two quarry-stone annealing furnaces, which were restored by Atscher citizens in 2012, are preserved in Berthold-Wolff-Park as monuments of the Atscher copper mill built by Matthias Leonhard Schleicher in 1810.
In Stolberg, this type of annealing furnace was often used for brass processing, as work hardening occurred during hammering and driving, which had to be removed for further processing.
