Text by poet and priest August Cuppens who died in Loksbergen in 1924 where he was a pastor. Cuppens translated more than 50 poems by Guido Gezelle, whom he knew well, into French. In 1914 he also wrote the poem: "De Slag der Zilveren Helmen" about those battles in Loksbergen and Halen that were fought that year and of which many traces and monuments still exist today in Loksbergen (and some walks).
