As early as 1840, a bathhouse and a hotel are said to have stood here! English guests favored this spa town, and remnants of the Englishmen's avenue can still be seen today! The square now features the bath chapel 💒 and several benches that invite visitors to rest.

A little further along, the Wutach River was diverted during this period, allowing people to punt near the rocks.
