Due to a huge landslide on the south bank of the Wutach the Schluchtensteig is led over an official detour along the north bank.

The view of the landslide and the slipped mountainside is quite dramatic and impressive.

This boulder avalanche has spilled access to the Wutachschlucht. Since then the way is redirected.

Really powerful - which earth and rock masses here have made the way down into the valley. Not for nothing was the gorge locked for months. Since the ravine is reopened, this section of the trail now leads along the north side.

The Wutachschlucht is a unique nature reserve and one of the most beautiful hiking routes in the Black Forest. Some sections of the trail are due to slipped slopes and fallen trees i.M. blocked.

A trail leads to a good view to the landslide.

The original path was buried by the debris avalanche, which is why the new gravel path on the other bank of the Wutach replaces the original path.

The route used to be on the other side of the river.

In March 2017 there was a landslide with around 50,000 cubic meters of rock and earth. A few meters from the edge of the demolition there is a power pole, over which a 110,000 volt line ran. The lines had to be dismantled as quickly as possible for fear of a domino effect and a new mast placed further back.

The well-known spot in the Wutach Gorge and probably the most photographed rock is probably exactly that. Unfortunately there are still people who absolutely have to climb up here to be photographed.
