While the picturesquely grouped exterior building remained largely unaffected over the decades, the interior underwent extensive redesigns as a result of the renovations in 1958/1959 and 1971/1972, which severely impaired the original total work of art of Art Nouveau. The general renovation from 1999-2001 brought the original layout of the large and small halls closer. In this way, the lost total work of art could be qualitatively regained.
