Ter Biestmolen

Opening hours of restaurant/brasserie/party rooms De Molenaere: Tuesday to Sunday from 12 noon to 11 pm. Closed on Mondays. From April 1 until late summer.

Old water mill dependent on the abbey of Ename and probably dating back to the 11th century. Seized and sold during the French Revolution in 1793. Probably a corn and oil mill until the sale in 1868, shortly afterwards the oil mill disappeared. Renovation and expansion works were carried out by the new owner J. Simoens in 1883. Special drive system, water runs under the farm and mill house and drives 2 built-in overstroke type water wheels. This allows grinding in the winter.
