The Seppenrader Rosengarten was created in the 1970s on the site of a disused garbage dump. Today the area covers an area of 18,753 m² and shows over 700 varieties of roses with more than 30,000 specimens. The care of the complex is still done by volunteers, the rose men and rose women.

The queen of flowers shines in all shapes and colors in the Seppenrade rose garden. Around 14,000 specimens adorn the park on the northeastern edge of Seppenrade. A visit is particularly worthwhile in the summer months, when more than 300 types of roses bloom and exude their beguiling scent.

This rose garden was born in the 1960s. Seppenrade received the "Gold Village Seppenrade" award for its great voluntary commitment to beautifying the village. Encouraged by this, the people of Seppenrade began to plant rose beds on the site of a former garbage dump on the edge of the village. A success story began: in 1972 Seppenrade became a rose village with its now almost 2 hectare rose garden.

Today, more than 130 volunteers look after the facility.

The volunteers do a great job here! A beautiful, large garden with a pond and bridge, where something blooms almost all year round - not just roses!
