This historic water mill is the only existing mill in the district of Schorisse. It is located on the Molenbeek and was owned by the Lords of Schorisse from its first mention in 1456 until the French rule in 1796. Their castle, by the way, was in the immediate vicinity.
Until the death of Rufin Vanderdonckt in February 2020, the mill was still grinding daily. Rufin was the fifth generation of this family to use the mill professionally. In 2013, the mill was given the 'Active Molen 2013' badge by the Molenforum Vlaanderen vzw.
