St. Michael's Church, built by monks from Corvey Abbey, has stood on the Heiligenberg hill since 1078. Until the 16th century, it served as the parish church for the three surrounding villages of Ovenhausen, Lütmarsen, and Bosseborn. After the Thirty Years' War, it was extensively restored in 1693 under Christoph von Bellinghausen, Prince-Abbot of Corvey.

The church, with its Baroque furnishings, is a popular venue for weddings. General services are also held here on special holidays.
