Dörnberg Temple

View of the snow-covered Homberg from the Sleeping Beauty Temple. The Dörnbergtempelchen is located directly on the city wall, is surrounded by a picturesque garden and therefore has a romantic, even fairytale appearance. During the warm seasons, cultural events and civil weddings take place on the site.

What we now call a "temple" is actually a fortified tower of the medieval,
western fortifications, which stretch around the entire old town like a ring. Integrated into the city wall, it used to provide a good view in order to spot potential attackers in good time. Centuries later, in 1809, it served as the conspiracy's rallying point to plan a particularly daring attack.
