Of quintessential Yorkshire Dales character, Buckden is a delightful little village nestled deep in Upper Wharfedale. There are a number of cottages and B&Bs here for overnighting, whilst the Buckden Village Stores offer the chance to stock up before a hike.

The main attraction is Buckden Pike, which rises steeply above the village. The ascent can be boggy at times, so appropriate footwear is essential.

Buckden is the epitome of a cute, charming Yorkshire village. Very nicely placed in the valley between the two tops of Birks Fell and Buckden Pike, both of which are Nuttalls. The walk to Buckden Pike from alongside Buckden Beck is particularly spectacular with its many waterfalls. There is also a good car park with toilet facilities just on the outskirts of the village.
