The Rotary Club has been heavily involved here and has contributed significantly to the restoration, preservation, and description of this site. It was here that the palisades on the Odenwaldlimes were first proven to exist. Wood remains almost 2000 years old were found in the ground. The structure of the tree rings allows for good dating of such remains. This is called dendrochronology.
