Hiking

A simply beautiful view down the length of Ennerdale Water. The distant Western Fells form the horizon, with Pillar's profile looking particularly dramatic from here. It is possible to do a loop of the lake from here, a walk that totals just over 7 miles (11.5 km).

Hiking

Lovely walk - the northern side is easy walking along paths and tracks to the YHA. The southern side is a bit more hard work but the views from Robin Hood seat makes it worthwhile. I would recommend do the south side first and enjoy the easy walk back to the carpark.
