A nice easy hike from the Ennerdale to Calder road. There are a few parking spots on that road but not many. I wish I could say it has good views but for the second day in a row I saw nothing from the high spots of the Western Fells.

Grike gets the prize for being the most westerly Wainwright fell. A large windshelter marks the summit of the fell (which is also good for a sarnie and a hot drink from the flask). Grike is 1,601 feet (488 m) in height and is commonly hiked with Crag Fell and Lank Rigg. I've hiked it starting from the road that links Ennerdale Bridge and Calder Bridge. I've also hiked it from the edge of Ennerdale Water (Bleach Green Car Park). Both are great approaches with good paths.
