A small spur castle once stood on a rock spur above the town of Hürben - Hurwin Castle (Hürben).
It existed as a local nobility seat probably since at least 1135, when a "Teginhart de huirwin" (de huirwin = von Hürben) appeared as a witness for a donation.
There is nothing left to see of the castle - a street name "Burggraben" still indicates the existence of the castle. A cemetery has been created in their place.
This was created when the castle was destroyed by the people of Ulm in the city war in 1449. It was no longer built. From then on, funerals took place in the castle courtyard.
