Strange landscape for our areas, a well-kept refuge even if essential (fireplace and 2 benches), external grills and water at 500 meters (a bit difficult to find if the grass is high as in these days at the end of June)

The shelter is open and equipped with water and a barbecue.

It is located on the Pianoro di Nasseto at 897 meters above sea level and was obtained from the ruins of the structures annexed to the large farm that occupied this plain.

Historically, news of the farm can be found as early as the 1500s and it remained active and used until the 1960s.

Here the animals from other pastures were brought to the pastures, or "allafide" as they used to say in the past.

A large meadow used for grazing where even today, in the summer, it can happen to come across some herds.

Its landscape, however, with the passage of time is slowly changing from a simple meadow to a wood, due to the ever more dense presence of brambles and wild plants.

The entire farm is crossed by a mule track flanked by a double row of secular maples, oaks and hornbeams: it leads towards Passo Serra, following a route that in ancient times pilgrims headed towards Rome used to follow.

Continuing along the path you arrive at the slopes of Monte Zuccherodante, where the landscape slowly changes and becomes more barren and bare, with suggestions similar to those of a lunar landscape.
