In January 1994 the official cessation of freight traffic on the remaining section took place. Today an association Windbergbahn e. V. to maintain the train stations and the train and car park. You can find out when the station is open and trains run here: windbergbahn.de/index.php

Information:
Gittersee Station was built in 1907, at which time the station building was also constructed. Today it houses the Windberg Railway Museum. The museum is home to the association's own vehicles. Both regular passenger cars and railway service vehicles can be viewed. The association organizes special excursions.
