The willow "cathedral", the willow passage and the beaver bench are simply worth seeing! A wonderful place to stay and a nice link between river and city.

Great willows artfully tied together... perfect to incorporate into a walk.

In the immediate vicinity of the Boizenburg harbor there is a unique “meeting place”, the so-called Weidenschneck. This was built on the green meadow next to the harbor wall a few years ago and is a living structure in the truest sense of the word.
Not only because regular events fill the place with life and people like to meet here when the weather is nice. The willow snail is a living structure primarily because the structure created from tiny willow cuttings is now a fascinating natural stage that invites you to numerous cultural events during the summer months. Its "outgrowths" of 18 meters long, nine meters wide and a remarkable height of at least twelve meters made the willow snail one of the largest willow trees in Germany.
With its vaulted ceiling, through which the sun shines when the weather is nice, and the small turret next door, the tree structure is also somewhat reminiscent of a church. If you feel like it, you can climb the tower and take a look over the Elbe meadows from here. An adjoining 450 meter long pasture path connects the lively town with the old town of Boizenburg, which is definitely worth a visit with its lovingly restored half-timbered houses.
