Westhofen cemetery was located on the site of the Catholic Church of St. Peter and Paul today. In the immediate vicinity there was a small cemetery chapel in the Middle Ages, which was consecrated to St. Michael the Archangel and which is mentioned in the Worms Synodal in 1496. A small ossuary was attached to it. During the repeated destruction of Westhofen during the Thirty Years' War, the chapel was probably badly damaged and abandoned after the war. The chapel became a quarry and its stones were reused for other buildings.
The church is on the market square directly opposite the Protestant church.

Nice sight of ecumenism, the Protestant and the Catholic Church right next to each other.

In addition to the Wingertsheisjer hike, you should also take a tour of the old part of Westhofen - very beautiful old houses and picturesque alleys
