Because of the loyalty of the citizens of Kaiserslautern, King Albrecht I gave the city the monastery forest in 1303. To commemorate this event, a circular hiking trail along the border of the southern city forest was named after this king. The path is located in the Palatinate Forest Nature Park and is 17 km long.
